I was very fortunate to have met the lovely James on several occasions. I was immediately struck with how warm and kind he was. He really listened and engaged with me. We bonded over having the same name and I loved hearing him talk passionately about Bletchley Park (there was a documentary on TV at the time). He knew a lot about the subject and I listened intently as I learnt new facts about it. But most of all, I remember his laugh. He had a chuckle that was just like him - soft, kind and very genuine. Obviously I didn’t know him as well as his wonderful family. But I feel very lucky to have had some moments with this compassionate man. Rest in peace sir. Love, James Floyd
